Over the last week, schools across the district administrated the January 26 PSAT in person amidst news that CCSD would transition to the hybrid model for K-3 students and news that CollegeBoard would be making sweeping changes to the SAT. Here is a quick summary to highlight the most important changes as well as possible future implications and study resources.

ACTs:

CCSD Juniors will be required to take the ACT with writing on February 23. Whether or not the exam will be in person and on paper like the PSAT is still to be decided. Testing centers are open at Faith Lutheran and Meadows.

Currently, CCSD schools are administering CERT practice tests with the second round of tests being administered the week of February 8. Furthermore, PrepScholar, a test preparation company founded by a Vegas native, will be offering a free 3 hour ACT review session on February 5 from 3-6 PM. SATs:

On January 19, 2021, CollegeBoard announced that it would be discontinuing SAT Subject Tests effective immediately as well as the SAT Essay after the June SAT.  In response to these changes, CollegeBoard announced that the widespread outreach of the AP exams was responsible for the first change and that the wide range of opportunities available to showcase writing was responsible for the second change. More information can be found here:

Testing centers are open at Meadows.

Khan Academy currently offers free SAT practice.
