Adult Students

Our Mission

The CCSD is the 5th largest school district in the United States with over 300,000 students enrolled. During our time as students in the district, we discovered that there is a large knowledge gap of the various opportunities available to students when compared to students in other states as well as a knowledge gap between students within the district.

Educational equity has been a glaring problem that often determines a student's success, a problem that was also exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the plethora of online information can make it confusing to navigate through the different websites available or make it difficult to find information tailored to Las Vegas students. A group of students founded LVSIH in March 2021 to connect students in the valley with a centralized resource bank that provides free information to families that would otherwise be unable to learn of it or become aware of it. As the original founders moved on to college, leadership of the site passed on to a new team. We continue to hope that lack of information will become less of a systemic problem to help students achieve academic success regardless of their background.

Our subsite of LVSIH, which is called Voice of Vegas, is an additional platform where students can submit and write articles of any number of topics and interest areas. We want to show the Las Vegas Valley that students also have a voice that is meant to be heard.

Founded and run by high school students, LVSIH aims to become a community resource for all students to interact with and access to find various resources and opportunities to pursue their academic passions and develop a love of learning. We hope to provide others with information that has helped us in our high school journey, help more students unlock their true potential, and contribute to society through their voices.
